Since September 2013, Verde Azul has been implementing a project financed by the World Bank under PROMAPUTO II, for the Mass Regularization of Land Use Rights and the formal concession of titles (DUAT). This project will end in November 2015. The overall objective is to provide technical assistance to the Municipal Council to reinforce and implement the regularization of land tenure and land registration in the peri-urban areas of Maputo, including the development of methodologies and supervisory mechanisms for land demarcation and land registration. The DUATs Mass Regularization program is being applied to a limited geographical area as a reference model so that in the future they can adjust and use the lessons learned in a wider range of informal settlements. The objective is to create an efficient and transparent system for the allocation of DUATs in Maputo.

PROMAPUTO involves the development of partial Urban Plans in 9 suburbs of Maputo (Zimpeto, Magoanine A, B and C, Albazine, Mahotas, 3 de Fevereiro, Laulane and Ferroviário).
