Resettlement at the Maguga Dam – Swaziland

Verde Azul was hired to carry out an environmental impact assessment of the construction at the Maguga Dam in Swaziland.

This work involved evaluating outflow contributions, impact assessment, mitigation proposals, monitoring flora and fauna, baseline and public health monitoring, studies on environmental economics, a draft resettlement plan, compensation estimates and a social baseline, as well as proposals for income-generating activities for affected families in the resettlement area.

This work was carried out for two years and involved more than 60 professionals.
